A planning application for proposal of new build large-scale contemporary hotel building for the suburbs of Hargeisa city, in Somaliland. The FAA Regent’s hotel consists of 300 rooms, shopping mall, 4 restaurants, meeting rooms, car rentals, 3 swimming pools one for children and wedding halls.

The hotel is designed in modern style taking into the consideration of locally available materials, existing regional architecture and hot climate requirements. Great thought was given to sustainability issues and renewable energies. The climate in Hargaisa city is hot for this hotel design is included ‘Photovoltaic’ on the roof of the hotel, which produces a free energy for the hotel. The hotel design includes renewable energy source of a two ‘wind farms’ on the roof of the hotel, as shown on the hotel elevation. This would generate enough electricity for the hotel and reduce pollution and greenhouse gasses.

The design of the hotel is includes a large shopping mall and wedding halls which would give a great benefits to the local residence.
