Xeebta Shopping Centre

A  planning  application  for  new  development  of  shopping  centre  and restaurant.  The  land  for  the  project  is  located  in  Africa, Bosaso  city  in North East region  of  Somalia.  
The  land  for  the  shopping  centre  is  42  x  20  meters,  this  made  very  difficult  to  fit  everything  requested  by  the  client,  and  nevertheless  we  managed  to accommodate  both  the  shopping  centre  and  the  restaurant,  including accompanying  buildings.  
The  shopping  centre  has  two  accesses,  one for  customers  and  one  for  staff  and  product  delivery  for  the  shops.    
We  have  considered  a  disable  access  for  the  disabled  people;  we  have included  in  our  design  a  ramp  at  the  customer  entrance  access.
The shopping centre is designed considering local architecture, materials and climate. Due to hot climactic weather the design of  the  building  is  included large  projecting  shading  elements,  to  give  sufficient  shading  from  the  sun, but  also  work  as  contemporary  architectural  feature.
We  have  used  ventilated blocks  which  provide  natural  ventilation  into  the building, this  gave  the  facades  distinct  character  and  strong  architectural features.
